UN Special Rapporteur concludes official visit to the United StatesToday, the UN Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, Philip Alston, concluded an official visit to the United States. During the visit, he looked at a range of issues, including the use of the death penalty and the operation of the military justice system. About the ProjectThe Project on Extrajudicial Executions was established by Philip Alston to support his work as the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Extrajudicial Executions. His mandate from the United Nations is to respond effectively to cases of extrajudicial killings around the world.
